Bellamy’s Reserve Rum 1998 Trinidad is unexpected fruity for a rum from the closed Caroni distillery, which has an unique and memorable style with lots of smoky, tarry notes. It was bottled at cask strength with 64% vol. – this is not for light sailors!
Let yourself be surrounded by a wonderfully intense scent of papaya, bitter orange, currant, mango, burnt wood, leather, cinnamon and a hint of menthol.
Please note that the rum was distilled in January 1998 – not in May as described on the bottle.
This noble Single Cask matured for 37 years in an ex-Bourbon barrel and therefore has a dark chocolate colour!
It originates from the Alcoholes del Istmo (formerly called Las Cabras) distillery in Panama. There it was distilled in January 1983 before it received a Tropical Ageing until July 2019 and was bottled in January 2020.
The Single Cask Rum was bottled at a cask strength of 61% vol. without any added colour or sugar. Only 275 bottles are available worldwide – a truly rare treasure!
