This particularly fine rum origins from the distillery La Cabaña in El Salvador and was distilled continuously on their local Column Still. The following ageing process happened on site in El Salvador: The distillate spent an entire 13 tropical years in Ex-Bourbon barrels and in American white oak.

But that’s not the end of the story yet: In Europe this special drop receives an extra two years in a very unique Ex-Rum barrel, which also came from El Salvador. This barrel previously contained rum used for a single cask filling of Cihuatán Rum and was hand painted with traditional motives exclusively for Perola.

After the final ageing process this particularly fine and mild rum was bottled with 52% ABV – of course without any colouring or sugar. There is a total of 170 bottles of this delicous rum.

Nose: glue, wood, honey, caramel, pepper.

Palate: honey, chocolate, bitter almond

Finish: warm and bitter-sweet
